It's hard to rate these fire blankets because thankfully we haven't had a fire! But I have one in the kitchen near the gas stove and one in the living room by the gas fireplace. They do give me peace of mind, which is the best thing.

Good quality and well made with heavy duty materials. I have never used it and hopefully won't have to. I live very high up on the upper floors of a high rise bldg and this is a valuable, crucial, necessary safety item that every home must have. This is one of the items inside my go-fire bag right by the door in case of emergencies. I am getting another one for the kitchen and place it right next to fire extinguisher. SAFETY FIRST ALWAYS!

Haven't used this yet. Its hung in closet for emergency, along with fire extinguisher. I have had two fires in the last two years. One fire in toaster oven when I burned the toast (crazy) and one on the stove top when my tea cozy caught fire. I used the fire extinguisher on the stove fire, and a towel on the toaster oven. I'm ready with this blanket for the next cooking fire! Will cause less mess than fire extinguisher.

I hope this works, but hope I never have to find out. It looks like a good product, takes up less space than an extinguisher. I can't report on how well it puts out fires till I have one. A product I never hope to use.

We hope never to use it, but we have one in case, trained my 5 year old kids and the rest of the family on how to use it, place it on a reachable and accessible area in the house, easy to hang, a must in any place, you'll never know when you have to use it, till you do

This is a safety precaution for possible kitchen fire issue. Hope we never need to use it but it sure looks as if it can put out the fire. Well and neatly packaged so immediate use is easy to obtain, just pull on the handles. A secure grommet allows us to hang it in kitchen but where it is not obtrusive. Every kitchen should have this. Very inexpensive insurance.

I didn't use it for fire (hopefully I never will) but I've been looking for a fire blanket for a long time and I am happy to find this. I think everybody needs this in their kitchen. I put it on the wall so you don't have to look for it in case of an emergency.

Hope I never have to use it, but it does give some reassurance that if needed, it is readily available along with the fire extinguisher. My husband does welding in the garage and I cook a lot in the kitchen, so the safety devices are in the hall closet next to both areas. Packaged nicely and arrived quickly.

Bought it for home fire safety and hung up in pantry for emergency use. Had windy day cooking on wood fire smoker. Temps were all over the place making cooking difficult. Used the fire blanket to cover the smoker and it helped. Blanket held up great to the heat. It is essentially a glass fiber sheet that is very soft and smooth. Folds up easily to put back in pouch for emergency deployment to cover stove fires. Strongly recommend.

Believe it or not I bought several of these and sent three out to my friends in California during the huge fires they had. They were very close but never had to evacuate but since things change quickly in those type of situations I thought it might be good for them to have. Then I bought some for my home and two friends here. No one has had to use them so I cannot coment on how they work but I feel safer having them.

It's hard to evaluate something that I am keeping in case of emergency. With that said, however, I was surprised (and impressed) with the weight of this item. It seems heavy for its size which, I suppose, is a good thing considering what it is to be used for. Also, I liked the packaging. Frankly, I hope I never have to use this item, but if I need it, I'm glad to know it's in my closet!

I bought it hoping that we'd never have to use, but, unfortunately, we had a stove fire approximately a week after it came it. I tried to put out the flames with a pot lid, but the flames were getting too big, and the smoke was starting to fill our apartment. I then grabbed the fire blanket, opened it, and threw it over the flames. It put the fire out almost immediately. After we got everything settled, I put in an order for several more. Now, every member of the family has one by their bed, and another one stays in the kitchen.

I had a small fire break out in my kitchen tonight (there were flames and two smoke detectors going off) and this thing put the fire out in seconds. Although I hope I never have to use this fire blanket, I think everyone should be prepared and have one or more of these in their home, business, boat, etc. It is a heavy duty, high quality blanket that I feel prevent a flash fire from spreading. Easy to hang in laundry room near kitchen and BBQ. I have 3 and they give me peace of mind. I used to keep spray extinguishers, but they are too easy to forget about and have to be replaced frequently. These blankets are compact and I think they are safer.

I’ll probably never use this.... hopefully. But it’s very well packaged and from the YouTube videos I watched deploys very effectively. I got the bigger one and it’s pretty heavy though. I will have it in my backpack when I’m going into populated cities to be st an extreme advantage if there were to be a building fire or any situation where someone or something is on fire. It functions both by being able to be spread over a fire to suffocate it but also can protect you from fire if wrapped in it. Again, hopefully never happens but I’d definitely be way better off in any of those situations than if I didn’t have this and as a medic I purposefully chase danger.

I'm thinking, even, of making these a standard part of any shower/wedding/housewarming gift from us in the future. I had no idea they were so affordable. It's really silly NOT to have at least one on hand. The blanket removes easily from the holder and fit well over the stove with good coverage. I suggest everyone purchase one of these and not "wish you had" should an emergency arise. Hoping to never have to REALLY put this to the test, but very happy to have this in our kitchen!!

The blanket is very compact and easy to use. If you were in a serious situation where a fire has spread, this blanket wrapped around you would help prevent burns trying to exit. Small fire, can easily be thrown on top to be extinguished. My daughter has a hard time using fire extinguisher; I showed her how to use blanket which was much easier for her. So would recommend for small kids. This also very easier to store in any room, such as an small drawer instead of a can spray. Thanks

This is a little like trying to rate life insurance - I've never tested it and hope I never do.
I showed it to a friend who is a fire chief and he say a blanket like this is the best way to fight a kitchen fire. It will smother the fire with no mess and also puts a fireproof barrier between you and the fire.

Our kitchen mess after a minor grease fire melted the bottom of the microwave. The fire started and was out in about 90 seconds while we stood right there trying to put it out...meanwhile the microwave door plastic melted and splattered the whole kitchen with tarry greasy messes. Ruined lots of pots and pans, ruined our microwave, and the fire extinguisher dust ruined our coffee pot and toaster. We spent about $600 replacing stuff and on cleaning products, plus about 20 hours scrubbing soot, dust (and molten plastic off the ceiling, walls, cabinets, stuff in cabinets, counters, floors, stuff in the next room over.....just an awful mess, and totally avoidable. If I had known these existed and thrown one over the stove instead, problem solved. Now I know too late, save yourselves the trouble!"

It is easy to forget safety while having a good time and so important to have safety materials handy.
